Guests can enjoy dinner, drinks, dancing and a live band on June 11 as the Croswell Opera House celebrates its 150th anniversary at its annual benefit gala, The Great Big Night.

The Great Big Night, which is sponsored by ProMedica, also includes opening night of the Croswell’s production of the Tony Award-winning musical “Billy Elliot.”

“This year’s event will be especially big for many reasons,” said Jere Righter, the Croswell’s artistic director. “On top of our 150th anniversary, we will be celebrating the beginning of an incredibly exciting renovation project, and we’ll also be giving everyone an update on the final phase of our capital campaign.”

The Great Big Night begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 11, with dinner and an open bar under a tent behind the Croswell and Adrian City Hall. Live entertainment will be offered, including a band and vocal selections by some of the Croswell’s performers. Curtain time for “Billy Elliot” will be 8 p.m. The show will be followed by an afterparty under the tent with hors d’oeuvres, desserts, dancing and a cash bar, with music by the Dan Kesterke Band.

This year’s event is co-chaired by Julie Brittain and Kris Schmidt, with honorary chairs Pam and Jim Van Doren.

Tickets for the Great Big Night are $150 per person, which includes the dinner, the afterparty and tickets for the show. Admission to just the show and afterparty is $50. Guests are asked to reserve their tickets by June 6 by calling 517-264-7469.

For any individual or business who would like to make an additional show of support for the Great Big Night and the Croswell, a limited number of table sponsorships are available for $2,500. These include tickets for eight people to the entire event, including premium seating for the show, and recognition as a table sponsor.
