The Croswell Opera House’s 2017 season continues this month with a production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”

The show opens Friday, Sept. 22, and runs for two weekends. The director is Sue Smith.

Dave Rains is the music director, leading an 11-piece orchestra through Alan Menken’s classic score. The choreographer is Sarah Nowak.

The Croswell’s production stars Kristen Fandrey of Swanton, Ohio, as Belle, and Jarrod Alexander of Toledo as the Beast. Peter Crist of Adrian plays the antagonist, Gaston.

Mark Hyre of Tecumseh plays Belle’s father, the eccentric inventor Maurice. Matthew Johnston of Maumee is Gaston’s sidekick, LeFou. The enchanted objects that inhabit the Beast’s castle are played by Michael Yuen of Adrian, Luke Barden of Clinton, Maria Portaro-Mohler of Lambertville, Abby Dotz of Saline, Margaret Hyre of Tecumseh, and David Blackburn of San Mateo, California.

Filling out the 45-person cast are Jacob Adams, Jessica Adams, Cole Carrico, Noelle Drews, A.J. Howard, Lauren Howard, Aiden Ketola, Abby Knight, Justin Kohlruss, Drew Price, Hannah Rowe, Lylah Slupe, Peter Stewart and Kai Yuen, all of Adrian; Mitchell LaRoy, Yvonne Maher and Alexzandria Waigle, all of Blissfield; Lucas Rohlfs of Jackson; Ashley Simon of Monroe; Morgan Decker of Ottawa Lake; Cordell Smith of Riga; Thomas Moore of Sand Creek; Anna McCarley, Wynter Osstifin, Macy Schmidt and Alicia Williams, all of Tecumseh; Emily Ialacci and Madison Spears of Temperance; Cyndy Brookover, Megan Del Vecchio and Mikey Del Vecchio of Toledo; Kelsey Vela of Perrysburg, Ohio; Wesley Richard of Rossford, Ohio; Taryn Wachowiak of Sylvania, Ohio; and Christina Youngblood of Whitehouse, Ohio. Longtime Adrian radio personality Peter Stewart provides the voice of the narrator.

Evening shows are at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30. Afternoon shows are at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 24 and 30 and Oct. 1. In addition, a sensory-friendly production with modifications intended for children on the autism spectrum will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.
