A country-western Christmas will come to Adrian this weekend when touring group Branson on the Road returns to the Croswell Opera House.

“Branson on the Road, Christmas Style” will be performed at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.

The group is led by Debbie Horton, who holds the distinction of being the only woman to have played lead guitar for country legend Johnny Cash. A longtime performer and songwriter, Horton is joined by Brian Capps on the upright bass and Cliff Boone on guitar, mandolin and banjo.

“Debbie and her band are amazing performers,” said Jere Righter, the Croswell’s artistic director. “They’re so energetic and fun, and they pack the house every time they’re here.”

Horton said Branson on the Road was formed because its members wanted to share the joy they feel at living in Branson, Missouri, which is often called “the live music capital of the world.”

“We realized that there are many people who will never have a chance to visit Branson personally, so we decided to bring our Branson stage show directly to them,” Horton said. “You will be singing along, laughing and enjoying every minute of this Christmas show.”

This will be Branson on the Road’s fourth visit to the Croswell, but the first time they have performed their Christmas show at the theater.

The Croswell is at 129 E. Maumee St., Adrian. Tickets to Branson on the Road are $25 and may be ordered online at croswell.org or by calling 517-264-7469.
