Director of Marketing and Community Outreach

The Croswell Opera House, a nonprofit community theater, is seeking a Director of Marketing and Community Outreach. This person’s primary role will be to promote the Croswell’s programs with the goal of growing attendance and participation, but they will also be part of a team that works hard to build meaningful relationships and benefit our community.

This is a full-time, salaried position. It is not a remote position.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing an advertising and promotional plan across a wide variety of channels, including email, direct mail, social media, print, radio, television, and outdoor advertising.
  • Pursuing earned media by writing and distributing press releases, lining up broadcast interviews, and pitching stories to media outlets.
  • Creating content, including video, for both social and traditional media.
  • Working with the development director to plan and implement online fundraising appeals.
  • Representing the Croswell at community events that align with our mission and goals.

In addition, this person will join the rest of the administrative team in providing customer service at Croswell shows approximately two weekends per month.

Qualifications:

Strong communication skills and attention to detail are a must.

There is no minimum education requirement, but this is not an entry-level role, and candidates with five years or more of relevant work experience are preferred.

The ideal candidate will have strong follow-through and project management skills that enable them to effectively meet deadlines.

Compensation:

Salary will be based on experience, but will not be less than $45,000. The Croswell offers a generous time-off policy, 100% employer-paid health insurance, and matching retirement contributions.
