Open auditions will take place this weekend for the Croswell Opera House’s September production, “150 Years at the Croswell.”
The show will be a musical journey through 150 years of theater history, encompassing a wide variety of styles. Singers and dancers of all ages are needed for the cast.
Auditions will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Croswell.
The show is directed by Doug Miller, with music direction by Dave Rains and choreography by Allison Kuhr.
Auditioners may arrive at the Croswell at any point between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., but should plan to stay for about an hour. Auditioners will be asked to sing a short vocal selection, between 16 or 32 bars in length, and should bring sheet music for the accompanist. There will also be a dance audition, so auditioners should wear loose, comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes.
The time commitment for rehearsals is about six weeks. Most rehearsals take place in the evening, with some weekend dates closer to opening.
“150 Years at the Croswell” will open on Saturday, Sept. 17, and run for two weekends.
