Anastasia

  • Anya: Young adult female. Anya is brave, witty, determined, and compassionate. With no memory of her life before age 17 and having lived through the horrors of the Russian Revolution, Anya jumps at the sound of gunshots and is distrustful of strangers, but there is steel hiding just beneath the surface.
  • Dmitry: Young adult male. Anya’s love interest, Dmitry is a scoundrel with a heart of gold.
  • Vladimir “Vlad” Popov: Adult male. Dmitry’s partner in crime and surrogate father. While not above lying, cheating and stealing, he cares for his loved ones and is generally affable.
  • Deputy Commissioner Gleb Vaganov: Adult male. The antagonist of the show, his infatuation with Anya leads to a battle between the idea of doing his duty vs. doing what is right.
  • Countess Lily Malevsky-Malevitch: Adult female. Lady-in-waiting to the Dowager Empress, she is clever, dutiful, and fun.
  • Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna Romanov: Older female. The Dowager Empress has lost everything she once held dear. She is icy, proud, and regal to all but her family.
  • Young Anastasia: Female child. The willful, brave, proud, and precocious youngest daughter of the Tsar.
  • Young Alexei: Male child. The heir to the throne and the only boy of the Romanov siblings. Anya considers him to have been her best friend.
  • Ensemble: The ensemble includes a number of adult roles.

La Cage Aux Folles

  • Georges: Adult male. Nightclub owner, partner to Albin, and biological father to Jean-Michel. He is mature, energetic, loving, and caring.
  • Albin: Adult male. The star drag performer at Georges’ club.
  • Jacob: Adult male. The vivacious butler employed by Georges and Albin. A strong comic role.
  • Jean-Michel: Young adult male. Georges’ son from a fling with a woman many years ago, Jean-Michel wishes to transform his parents before they meet his fiancée and her traditional family.
  • Anne: Young adult female. Jean-Michel’s fiancée and the daughter of a conservative politician.
  • Edouard Dindon: Anne’s father. He is pompous and obsessed with tradition.
  • Marie Dindon: Anne’s mother. She is shy, retiring, and both sex-starved and sexually repressed.
  • Jacqueline: Adult female. A restaurant owner and a good friend of Albin and Georges. This role can be filled by a character singer.
  • Monsieur Renaud: Adult male. Owner of a popular café, and friend of Albin and Georges.
  • Francis: Adult male. The stage manager in Georges’ club.
  • Les Cagelles: Adult males. Drag performers at Georges’ club. Must be strong dancers.
  • Ensemble: The ensemble includes a number of adult roles.

Bring it On

The named roles are all high school students, but may be played by either teens or young adults.

  • Campbell: A senior head cheerleader, she is constantly working toward the goal of a championship and her “one perfect moment,” but her plans are derailed when redistricting forces her into a new school.
  • Danielle: The head of the dance crew at Campbell’s new school, she has fought hard to make a name for herself. Must be played by a person of color.
  • Nautica: Danielle’s friend and a member of the dance crew. Should be played by a person of color.
  • La Cienega: A transgender woman and a member of the dance crew, she is fashionable and sassy.
  • Randall: The school DJ, he is a Cinderella story, having worked his way from dorky freshman to smooth senior, and becomes Campbell’s love interest at the end of the show.
  • Steven: Campbell’s boyfriend when the show begins, he is the only male cheerleader at her old school.
  • Kylar: A cheerleader at Campbell’s old school, she is fiercely loyal. She is intelligent but has learned to keep it hidden.
  • Skylar: A cheerleader at Campbell’s old school, popular with a mean streak.
  • Eva: Campbell’s neighbor and the newest cheerleader, she appears meek and naive but in reality is a scheming social climber.
  • Bridget: Redistricted at the same time as Campbell, she was the mascot for Campbell’s former team. Nerdy and out of shape, she is spirited and kind-hearted.
  • Twig: A hip-hop artist at Campbell and Bridget’s new school who quickly develops an attraction toward Bridget.
  • Cameron: A hop-hop artist at Campbell’s new school, he’s the class clown and a wannabe ladies’ man.
  • Ensemble: Other students at both schools.

Annie

  • Annie: Female child. A streetwise orphan, she is spunky and friendly with a big voice.
  • Warbucks: Adult male. A successful businessman with a warm heart.
  • Grace Farrell: Adult female. Warbucks’ secretary, she is poised, sweet and gentle.
  • Miss Hannigan: Adult female. The orphanage matron, she hates children but is fond of liquor. Disillusioned, bitter and cold.
  • Rooster: Adult male. Miss Hannigan’s no-good brother, he’s a sleazy con man who’s always looking for a quick buck.
  • Lily: Adult female. Rooster’s girlfriend, just as scheming and a bit of a floozy.
  • Molly: Female child. The littlest girl in the orphanage.
  • Pepper: Female child. The toughest girl in the orphanage.
  • Duffy: Female child. The oldest girl in the orphanage.
  • Kate: Female child. The second-littlest orphan.
  • Tessie: Female child. The most sensitive of the orphans.
  • July: Female child. The quietest orphan.
  • Bert Healy: Adult male. A charismatic radio personality.
  • President Roosevelt: Adult male. The president of the United States.
  • The Boylan Sisters: A trio that sings in close harmony like the Andrews Sisters.
